Ready? Let’s dive in.
Prerequisites
- To change the billing cycle, you need to have a Pro license with an active subscription.
What happens when I change the billing cycle?
From monthly to yearly
When you change your billing cycle from monthly to yearly, we’ll deduct from the amount that you paid at the beginning of the current billing cycle a prorated cost for the days that have passed from its beginning.
The credit that’s left will be deducted from the cost of a yearly subscription, which will be immediately due.
And the starting date of the new subscription will be the current date – the date of the change.
For example, you are subscribed to a monthly Pro Plan, and on January 1st you paid a sum of $19.
On January 10th, you decide that you want to switch to a yearly plan.
We’ll deduct from the $19 you’ve paid the cost of being subscribed to the monthly plan for 9 days (approx. $6).
The credit that’s left – approx. 13$ – will be deducted from the cost of the yearly plan you’re switching to. So if it costs 180$, you’ll be charged an extra 167$ which will subscribe you to the yearly plan immediately.
And because the change took place on the 10th, your year with Deskfirst Pro will start on that day, which means that your renewal date will also be the 10th, and not the 1st like it originally was when you were subscribed to the monthly Pro Plan.
From yearly to monthly
While you have the freedom of choice, and you can change from a yearly to a monthly plan, it’s not recommended. That’s because the price paid for a full year will become the balance from which the monthly plan will be charged, meaning you’ll get less value for your money.
When you change your billing cycle from yearly to monthly, we’ll deduct from the amount that you paid at the beginning of the current billing cycle a prorated cost for the days that have passed from its beginning.
The credit that’s left will become your account’s balance, and every month the cost of a monthly subscription will be charged from it.
And the starting date of the new subscription will be the current date – the date of the change.
For example, you are subscribed to a yearly Pro Plan, and on January 1st you paid a sum of $180.
On February 2nd, you decide that you want to switch to a monthly plan.
We’ll deduct from the $180 you’ve paid the cost of being subscribed to the yearly plan for a little over 1 month (approx. $15).
The credit that’s left – approx. $165 – will become your account’s balance.
From that balance, 19$ will be charged which will subscribe you to the monthly plan immediately.
And because the change took place on the 2nd, your month with Deskfirst Pro will start on that day, which means that your renewal date will also be the 2nd, and not the 1st like it originally was when you were subscribed to the yearly Pro Plan.
