Creating New Web Desktops

What you’ll learn

Hi there! In this article, we’re going to cover a powerful Pro feature – the ability to create new web desktops and allocate them storage capacity. This is one of the most powerful features of Deskfirst Pro and it will allow you to create a dedicated web desktop for every client, project, and use case!

Here’s specifically what we’ll cover:

Ready? Let’s dive in.

Prerequisites

  1. You need to have a Pro license with an active subscription (learn more about Pro).
  2. You need to have an unused quota in your account to create new web desktops and allocate them storage space (to free-up quota, learn more about Reallocating Storage Capacity and Resetting and Deleting Web Desktops).

Create a new web desktop

  1. In the New Desktop’s Name field, fill in the desired name.
  2. Using the slider, allocate the new web desktop as much storage as needed.

This setting isn’t permanent and you’ll be able to adjust it later according to your needs (learn more about Reallocating Storage Capacity).

To optimize your storage usage, it’s recommended to allocate storage capacity to every desktop according to your actual needs.

  3. Optional – if you want the new web desktop to be the default one, check the Set as default desktop box.
  4. Optional – if you want the web desktop you’re creating to open in a new tab after you create it, check the Open desktop in a new tab box.
  5. Click Create a Web Desktop. You’ll be immediately redirected to your brand-new web desktop!
